Our History

Justice & Equity Law Firm was founded in 2005 by partners Sarah Miller and David Thompson. Their vision was to create a law firm that not only provided top-tier legal services but also upheld the highest ethical standards and a commitment to social justice. From humble beginnings in a small office, the firm has grown into a respected legal institution serving the greater Anytown area.

In its early years, the firm focused primarily on family law and criminal defense, providing much-needed legal assistance to underserved communities. The partners quickly gained a reputation for their dedication to their clients and their unwavering pursuit of justice. As the firm grew, it expanded its practice areas to include personal injury, business law, and estate planning, allowing it to serve a wider range of clients with diverse legal needs.

Meet the Team

Sarah Miller, Founding Partner

Sarah Miller is a founding partner of Justice & Equity Law Firm. She specializes in family law and has over 15 years of experience representing clients in divorce, custody, and adoption cases. Sarah is known for her compassionate approach and her ability to achieve favorable outcomes for her clients through negotiation and litigation.

Sarah holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University. She is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and California, and she is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.

David Thompson, Founding Partner

David Thompson is a founding partner of Justice & Equity Law Firm. His practice focuses on criminal defense, where he aggressively defends individuals facing a wide range of charges. David is a skilled trial attorney with a proven track record of success in the courtroom.

David received his Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan. He is licensed to practice law in the states of Texas and Florida, and he is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Emily Carter, Associate Attorney

Emily Carter is an associate attorney at Justice & Equity Law Firm. She specializes in personal injury law, helping victims of accidents and negligence recover compensation for their injuries and losses. Emily is passionate about advocating for her clients and ensuring they receive the justice they deserve.

Emily graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center with a Juris Doctor and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University. She is admitted to practice law in the state of Virginia and is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
